Fourth Modellers' Exchange Workshop

The fourth workshop in the Modellers' Exchange series focussed on the question: How can distribution grids be represented in energy system planning?

On 29 October 2020, the Renewables Grid Initiative hosted the 4th Modellers' Exchange Workshop in an online format.

The workshop was dedicated to the question of how the future behaviour of distribution networks can be better integrated into European infrastructure planning.  To get an insight into the future visions of distribution network operators and service providers, the workshop started with three impulse presentations. These were held by :

  • Dr. Enno Wieben | EWE Netz
  • Jonas Danzeisen | Venios
  • Anne van der Mole | Netbeheer Nederland

Following the inputs, 21 participants from network operation, research, service and society discussed in small working groups what the first steps towards a stronger consideration of the distribution network in transmission system planning might look like.

Presenters of the three working groups gathered findings from their respective sessions and fed these into a concluding plenum session.
