Public participation in energy & grid planning: Sharing regional experiences

Discussing how public participation can contribute to energy and grid planning, panellists from REN21, RGI, GGI and IRENA shared expertiences from different world regions in this PAC Project Workshop.

Effective energy and grid planning are key to facilitating the deployment and distribution of renewable energy, ensuring inclusive energy access for all. But, how does civil society participation contribute to this process?

On 16 November 2023, REN21 co-organised the PAC Workshop "Public participation in energy & grid planning: Sharing regional experiences" in collaboration with the Renewables Grid Initiative, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Greens Grid Initiative.

The discussion engaged experts as they share experiences from different world region, including the following panellists:
